Bond Violation Case Dismissed Against Sue Farenthold

CORPUS CHRISTI - Congressman Blake Farenthold's sister, Sue Farenthold, will leave jail today; that's after the judge dismissed the case against her for a violation of her bond for drug possession charges.

A grand jury indicted her on the charge Thursday. Authorities arrested Sue Farenthold Wednesday when she tested positive for methamphetamine in a urine drug test.

According to her defense attorney, Sue Farenthold was on a medically induced weight loss program prescribed by doctor. She has lost 55 lbs since she started the program.

The judge became upset that the probation office didn't provide a list of medications Farenthold was taking and consider that the weight loss medications might cause a false positive on a drug test.

The bond revocation case was dismissed and her bond reinstated. Farenthold is still facing a drug possession charge.
