INGLESIDE - Some employees at Gulf Marine Fabricators are being evacuated after a bomb threat found around 9 a.m.
According to San Patricio County Sheriff Leroy Moody, a note was found at the plant that said there was a bomb on the premises and it was going to go off at a certain time.
According to an employee, that note was found in a portable restroom.
As of 11:30 a.m. one of the platforms at the facility had already been evacuated.
Sheriff's deputies and bomb sniffing dogs are at the plant. So far, the plant has evacuated employees working in the field and on the decks. Meanwhile, other employees are still working on other areas of the property.
Deputies have blocked access to the facility at Sunray Road and County Road 143.
Our attempts to obtain comment from Gulf Marine Fabricators were unsuccessful.
