CORPUS CHRISTI-- Several hundred people from this weekend's bike fest took part in a life-saving ride for charity. The Ride for the Red is a benefit for the American Red Cross.
The riders started in downtown and rode south to the island, before roaring through Port Aransas, Ingleside and back to downtown.
They say the ride was worth it.
One local biker, Randy Lara, says: "it's fun to give back to the community, give back to the Red Cross. They do so much in the area with fires, disasters, hurricanes, they help out a lot of people."
Donations were also collected to provide blankets and other comfort items to American troops serving overseas.
