CORPUS CHRISTI - The saying goes, "there's no place like home" unless you're an IceRay, then it sound a little more like "can we play anywhere but home". Now don't take that out of context, they love playing on their home ice, and they love their fan base, but for some reason this team is more successful outside of the American Bank Center.
"I think when we get on the road we have a different mentality and we wanna beat the other teams at their home and we need to start bringing that here and getting wins for our fans," said Perry D'Arrisso.
On the year the team is 10-7-5 on the road compared to 7-12-1 at home. As of today the club is fourth in the South Division eight games back from Topeka who is in third.
"We are definitely road warriors. Our road mentality is just different people joke around that we are old guys and we are banged up but you gotta tough it out on the road and we do," said Ben Myers.
The team will be on the road this weekend in Topeka for a pair of games, and still have a little over a month and a half left to catch the pack before the regular season ends.
