Benefit Underway for Family Who Lost Father in Crash

CORPUS CHRISTI - The community has once again come through to help a local family struggling after the loss of a loved one.

This afternoon on the corner of Cloyde and Baldwin a lunch benefit is being held for the family of David Salazar Jr.

The 32-year-old father of six died in a head on crash along Highway 359 near Skidmore. State troopers say the other driver veered into his lane.

Chili dog plates are being sold from now until everything is sold out.

Over the past couple of months, the same group has raised thousands to cover the funeral costs for families who've suffered tragedies.
