BEEVILLE - Six families and a group of guys who share an apartment in Beeville were forced out of their homes by an apartment complex fire this morning.
Around 10:00 a.m. the fire started in a downstairs unit at one of the buildings inside the town plaza apartments.
No one was home at the time and everyone in the building got out safely.
Fire crews put out the fire 15 minutes after the arrived.
It was already too late to save one unit while seven other units were damaged by heat, smoke and water.
The red cross is helping seven men who were sharing one apartment and six families from the other apartments.
One family lost everything in the fire.
There's no word on the cause just yet.
