CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Corpus Christi IceRays will get more offensive firepower back for next weekend's game in Odessa as Beau Walker has opted to return to junior hockey from Sacred Heart University where he appeared in five games so far this year.

"I was very gracious for the opportunity to play at Sacred Heart," Walker said. "It's unfortunate that things didn't work out the way it was meant to be."

This year with the Pioneers, Walker picked up two assists in five games played, while missing some time with an injury.

"I'm very excited to get the chance to come back to Corpus Christi and try to get the attention of some other schools as well as helping the IceRays finish strong and make a run for the playoffs," Walker added.

In two seasons with the IceRays, Walker scored 33 goals and 74 assists in 114 games played.

"Under the circumstances it is always difficult to see a player leave a D1 program to return to Juniors," said head coach Justin Quenneville. "However, Beau and his family feel this is the best decision for him and we look forward to getting him in the line-up and exposed to additional collegiate opportunities. The return of Beau will bring some much needed secondary scoring and immediately improve our Power-Play. Being a member of the team the past two seasons, he is not only familiar with me, but the players, the organization and the environment which will help bring additional leadership and experience."

Corpus Christi also signed Jack Suter of the Colorado Rampage U18 team to a tender for next season. The 5'10'' 165lb forward is the leading scorer for the Rampage is guided by head coach Andrew Sherman.

Quenneville said this signing was a no brainer. "He is a skilled player who had interest in several programs in our league. He chose to sign with us and we are excited to continue to track his progress. Jack was also added to our Affiliate List and we have the potential to get him in games this season as well. Signing a player like Jack was an easy decision for us and knowing that he played under Coach Sherman ensures the type of player we are going to get."

With the Rampage this season, Suter has tallied 8 goals and 9 assists in 24 games played.
