CORPUS CHRISTI - The 2013 Beach Running World Championships are coming to the beaches of Padre Island this November and will return in 2014.
The Corpus Christi Convention & Visitors Bureau says the event is moving from the normal location of Cocoa Beach, Florida in order to diversify the event.
The two day event is expected to bring hundreds of runners to Corpus Christi as they compete in 5k, 10k, and half marathon distances.
Organizers are betting on low tide conditions during a full moon on the the second weekend of November which will allow a wider running surface.
Registration fees for the events start at $25.
