ROBSTOWN - Relatives helped out families who lost everything in a fire in Robstown on Monday. The fire broke out at a home on Avenue E and spread to a neighboring house because of incredible winds earlier this week.
It's not known what caused the fire but when it was all over there wasn't much left of either house. Today family members held a BBQ benefit at Big Dawg's Bar in Robstown. There was a car show and moon jump for the kids while people dropped off donations of food, baby items and clothes to help the victims.
"It's amazing because Robstown is a small community," said Laura Bayardo Montemayor, "and to see everybody coming out and donating food they're dropping off sweets and dropping off donations."
