CORPUS CHRISTI - Bay Area Hospital welcomed James Gonzalez as the facility's first Christmas baby this year.
Baby James was born a little after 8 o'clock this morning to proud parents Priscilla and James, Sr.
All babies born on Christmas day at the hospital are placed in shirts and hats that say "special holiday delivery."
Priscilla said she had no idea her baby would be coming today, but the staff at bay area hospital was prepared.
"It's just a very exciting time and usually they're not planning to spend their Christmas here with us," said Tana Wright, RN. "It's lots of fun. We sure enjoy it."
The eight pound healthy baby boy was delivered without any complications.
