Basey Earns Second-Team All-LSC Honors

ALLEN, Texas - Texas A&M-Kingsville junior guard Rashad Basey was named second-team All-Lone Star Conference on Tuesday night at the Lone Star Conference Awards Banquet.
The junior from Louisville is the Javelinas leading scorer with 14.2 points a game on the year while also tops on the team with 3.5 assists. Basey led the team in scoring 13 different times including a 30-point performance against Eastern New Mexico. Defensively, Basey leads the team with 1.6 steals. The point guard was amongst the league leaders in points per game, field-goal percentage, assists, steals and assists-to-turnover ratio.
Basey leads the Javelinas into Lone Star Conference Tournament action on Thursday when Kingsville takes on Incarnate Word at 8:30 p.m. in the final game of the opening round. The men's and women's tournament begins with four games on Wednesday and four Thursday. Friday's action will include the semifinals for both the men's and women's with the title games on Saturday at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
