Corpus Christi - Hundreds of people hit the stores today to take advantage of this year's tax-free weekend, with many shoppers hoping to take advantage of back-to-school sales.
Most clothes, shoes, and school supplies are exempt from state and local taxes throughout the weekend.
"When you're spending a thousand dollars, and you're saving 8%," said shopper Kim Powers. "That's pretty nice savings."
Shoppers said the crowds aren't as bad as this time last year, but they came prepared for anything.
"We kind of decided where we were going to go, and we decided what we really needed," said Shoppers Maddie Fernandez. "So we could just go in, go out."
These kids may be ready for back-to-school shopping, but they're not all ready to actually go back.
"The waking up early, ugh, the waking up early," said shopper AJ Espinosa.
However, if you want to beat the crowds and take advantage of the last day of the sale, experts suggest heading out early tomorrow.
