PADRE ISLAND, Texas (AP) - Authorities have released additional information they hope will lead to the identification of a woman found dead on a South Texas beach last fall.
Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio said Monday that with a preliminary report from the medical examiner and assistance from the Department of Public Safety, they have more details about the woman found Oct. 10, 2012, about 5 miles north of the last beach access point for vehicles.
She was between 40 and 45 years old, about 5 feet tall, weighed 100 pounds, had black hair and tattooed eyebrows.
Lucio says the body was decomposed and partially covered in sand when discovered north of South Padre Island, but an initial autopsy did not find any trauma. She was wearing blue plaid shorts and a sleeveless purple top.
