Hooks' Dave Clark has been promoted from third base coach to Astros interim manager for the final 13 games of the season after Astros management fired manager Cecil Cooper.
After leading the Hooks for three seasons, he went on to Round Rock to manage for a year and then got called to be on Cooper's staff this season. Wade said Clark will be a candidate in the search for a permanent replacement.
Clark led the Hooks to the 2006 Texas League Championship. His combined regular and postseason record in Corpus Christi is an even 213 and 213. He's the first manager of a Ryan-Sanders Baseball club to manage in the big leagues.
"The main thing for me is to finish the season out and finish on a strong note, bring out the best in these players and get back to that winning type atmosphere; that winning-type attitude," Clark said.
"He did a great job for us while he was here. There's no doubt in my mind he'll be a great big league manager. He's there because of Cecil and they're friends, so it's probably kind of a tough situation for Dave, but he'll do very well," Hooks President Ken Schrom said.
