Arrest Made for Theft of Vintage Cadillac in Alice

ALICE - Edmon Daniel Hawks, 21, is now in custody for allegedly stealing the 1940 Cadillac from a FESCO building in Alice this week. The vintage car was taken during a burglary to the location on Main Street early Monday.

Police say a tipster let them know they had seen the conspicuous green car at a gas station in Calallen that same morning. Investigators did not say where Hawks was arrested, but he's currently in the Jim Wells County jail.

The car was found abandoned behind another business in Jim Wells County by an employee doing a perimeter check of the property.

Just last October, Hawks was arrested for his alleged role in eight burglaries in Alice, including churches. He was released from prison last May after serving time for a 2010 burglary charge.
