CORPUS CHRISTI - An accused murderer is jailed nearly one year later for the killing of 29-year-old Patrick Mark Brailey at the Smokin Waves Lounge.
Homicide detectives tracked 36-year-old Bacilio Rudy Hernandez to a home on Hiawatha Street yesterday.
On December 15, 2012, Brailey was shot once in the back during an argument at the now closed lounge on Water Street.
Police said the shooter fired into a crowd of people around 3:30 in the morning. He then took off in an SUV.
There's no further information available just yet on the murder of Hernandez's connection to the victim.
Hernandez, a known gang member, is held on a one million dollar bond in the Nueces County Jail.
The killing sparked an investigation into the Smokin Waves Lounge. TABC was told the owners were selling alcohol without a permit. The City of Corpus Christi and Nueces County officials also took a closer look when informed the business didn't have any permits to operate.
The owners were evicted from the leased space and never reopened the same business.
