Aransas Pass Police Department Gets New Patrol SUVs

ARANSAS PASS - The Police Department just got four new police patrol SUVs. The Ford Police Interceptor SUVs are basically beefed up Ford Explorers. The Aransas Pass Police Department says these SUVs will give them 25 percent better fuel economy over the Ford Crown.

They are all wheel drive which will help cops get into areas where the old cars couldn't go. The SUVs still need emergency equipment and computer systems installed; after that, they'll be ready for the streets. Drug forfeiture funds helped to pay for the new SUVs at the Aransas Pass Police Department.
