ROCKPORT - An jailer in Aransas County accused of violating the civil rights of a female inmate and having sexual contact says there was "mutual consent" involved.
We caught up with 65-year-old Paul Noel at his home in Rockport this morning. He was fired in June roughly a month after a woman told investigators he had touched her breasts and genitals on several occasions.
According to court documents, the inmate was working a kitchen detail at the Aransas County Detention Center that was under Noel's supervision.
The same documents outline an investigator's report that during a second interview Noel admitted to having sexual contact with the woman.
This morning Noel told us it was "mutual consent. That's all I'm going to say. Thank you."
Noel's case could go before a grand jury next month.
