ARANSAS PASS - One AP resident is concerned over the lack of fire hydrants in his neighborhood after Friday night's blaze inched closer and closer to his home.
Today, we spoke with Pat Kerr, who lives on 10th Street, only a handful of feet away from where the fire line stopped.
He walked our cameras through his neighborhood, pointing out that the nearest fire hydrant was nearly 2 football fields away.
He says he watched tanker trucks go back and forth, refilling their water supply, killing precious time, while the fire raged on.
He plans to ask the city to look into putting a handful of hydrants in his neighborhood considering it is so close to the brush that caught fire last night.
We called City Hall in AP, but no one was there to answer as it is the weekend. We will try again on Monday.
