CORPUS CHRISTI - In reaction to what happened to 13-year-old Alyssa Gonzalez last week her family set up an anti bullying rally this morning at Cunningham Middle School.

"No more bullying! No more bullying!" chanted students rallying against bullying.

Family and friends stood in front of Cunningham Middle School this morning protesting bullying and supporting Alyssa Gonzalez after she was beaten on school property by another student last week.

"I mean I don't wish this upon anybody, anybody's family. It's just something a child definitely doesn't need to go through," said Alyssa Gonzalez's father Mike Gonzalez.

"Justice for Alyssa! Justice for Alyssa!" chanted family members.

But this rally wasn't just about Alyssa, it gave others a chance to stand up about bullying happening in other schools.

"We've got to set an example about all the bullying that's going on. Just for all the kids that are going through it and that are scared to speak up, you know I mean maybe this will help them out," said Gonzalez.

The parents of a 7-year-old student at Sam Houston Elementary showed up to show their support and to share their experience with their daughter being bullied by a 5th grader.

"He picked her up by one arm and one leg trying to take her shoe away and dropped her on a steel beam to hit her head," said Angela Riojas.

"We come here we drop off our kids and think that they're safe. Wind up they come and they're bleeding, they're hurt because of other little kids. That's not right," said Alyssa Gonzalez's Uncle Xavier Gomez.

The Principal of Cunningham Middle School, Elizabeth Perez, sent out a newsletter to all parents thanking the parents who came out to rally against bullying and to let everyone know that the school isn't taking what happened to Alyssa Gonzalez lightly.
