ANNAVILLE - KRIS 6 News has new information on the Annaville home that was surrounded by the unauthorized barbed wire fence.
We drove by the place today and found it is up for sale.
KRIS 6 News already told you how the home kept Code Enforcement hopping for years, how the owner refused to comply with repeated requests to tear the fence down and how all that culminated with the owner's removal and the city's push to get a court's permission to go ahead and clean the place up.
But a man has stepped forward and is cleaning up Herlinda Nunez's home, with her permission.
The man's name is John Doherty and he's asked declined on-camera interviews.
But his number is listed on the for-sale sign. He says he's close friends with Nunez and is helping her sell the property.
He's has already had crews knock down the infamous-barbed wire and plywood fence. And for the first time in years, the front yard is clear.
We also interviewed Assistant City Manager Sharon Thorpe. She said the city is closely monitoring the progress and is still pursuing the court case against Nunez.
Thorpe said the city will work to ensure the home is completely up to code and ready to inhabit.
