CORPUS CHRISTI - It was a battle of the brains at the 2009 Animators Competition, held tonight at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
Twelve finalists from various high schools competed to create the best animated game or movie, using an editing program called "Scratch."
The contests' theme was "winter" and the young animators had to include winter items in their creations. Aside from the amazing prizes they were fighting for, organizers say that computer skills are one step toward a successful future for the students.
Liza Wisner with Texas Techies says, "The times are changing, these students here are tomorrow's workforce and tomorrow's workforce really, really depends on technology."
The first place winner of the contest recieves a brand new laptop.
