Alvarez Arrested for Murder at Whataburger

CORPUS CHRISTI - A man was arrested Thursday evening in connection with the death of 25 year old Aaron Juarez early Saturday morning in the parking lot of the Whataburger at Cimarron and Yorktown.

David Alvarez, 31, was picked up in the 6100 block of Brockhampton.

Juarez died after being hit while trying to apologize for putting a ding in the car next to his in the parking lot. According to a witness, Juarez had opened the passenger door of the vehicle he hit in an attempt to apologize.

Witnesses say Juarez tried to avoid the fight, but was punched in the face and hit the ground. He died later at the hospital.

Bond for Alvarez was set at $200,000 on a charge of murder. He's no stranger to police. According to online court records, Alvarez has prior convictions for DWI (twice), felony credit card abuse, theft, and possession of marijuana.
