Alice Police Say Man Admits to Having Drugs inside Apartment

CORPUS CHRISTI - Alice police are cracking down on drugs and crime in the city.
Yesterday they made another drug bust and put one local man behind bars.
Alice police say 23 year old Sergio Armando Bowen was arrested after they found cocaine inside an apartment on North Aransas.
But the drug bust didn't start there, it actually started during a routine traffic stop.
Bowen was pulled over at the corner of Sain Drive and Stadium when he failed to put on his turn signal.
Police searched his car and say they found 7 grams of cocaine in a cup holder.
That's when, according to officers, Bowen admitted he had more drugs at home.
Officers went to the apartment and say they found around 30 grams of cocaine, $800 cash, a handgun, and other drug paraphenalia, including baggies and a scale.
Authorities believe Bowen was selling the cocaine.
Neighbors say they had a bad feeling about Bowen, but had no clue any of this was going on.
Jessica Ramos who lives nearby says, "It makes me wan to cry. I'm a real sensitive person. It kind of makes me wonder what's going to be aroudn my kids. I have a new born and it makes me wonder if my kids are going to be safe. It this is the way it's going to be then we are probably going to have to move because I don't want to be around that."
Alice Police Chief Daniel Bueno assures Ramos and the rest of the community that they are doing what they can to keep residents safe.
Bueno says, "We owe it to the citizens of Alice to be safe and I will do anything to use all my resources to make sure they are safe."
Bowen faces charges of possession of a controlled substance.
