ALICE, - Alice police have released a sketch of a suspect in a kidnapping case. According to the family, the man likely did not realize a 3-year-old child was asleep in the backseat, when he took off in the family's Chevy Cobalt around 5:45 a.m. Monday morning.
The mother left her car running as she went to drop of one of her children. She admits noticing a car driving by slowly, but by the time she turned around for a second look, she saw her car driving away.
The family immediately called 911. An officer found the car with the unharmed child still inside about 45 minutes later at the Bourdeaux apartments in Alice. The complex is roughly half a mile from her home.
The girl told family the man said something like, 'I'm gonna try and find your mommy,' before ditching the car. If you recognize the man in the sketch you are asked to call Alice Police.
