KINGSVILLE, Texas - The honors keep coming for former Texas A&M-Kingsville football player Jeremy Aguilar as he was named to the 2012 D2Football.com All-America Second Team at linebacker it was announced Thursday.
It is the third postseason honor for Aguilar following the 2012 season. Earlier this week he was selected to the Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-Super Region Four team, was a first-team All-Lone Star selection and one of two LSC players named to the AFCA All-America team.
Aguilar finished the 2012 season with a team-best 97 tackles in 11 games. He finished with 48 solo tackles and had a team-best 12.5 tackles for a loss. He had double-digit stops three times with 14 against Midwestern State, 12 at Valdosta State and 10 at Tarleton. He forced three fumbles and intercepted a pair of passes. In the Javelinas' trip to the Kanza Bowl, Aguilar finished his career with a team-best nine tackles with a sack. He had 4-1/2 tackles for a loss in the game to lead all players.
