CORPUS CHRISTI -- When Tyrone Davis got a chance to talk with his wife, Kasara, he had to tell her their 4-year-old son was dead.
"We have talked to her about it, and she's just trying to be strong about it," he said.
Davis' son, Tayden, who was thrown from the SUV when it flipped multiple times, died at the hospital from his injuries.
Davis' wife, who is alert and speaking with doctors and family members, has two fractures in her spine, and is scheduled to undergo surgery Wednesday.
When asked what he is doing to get through his son's death, he said, "Just pray. That's the only thing I can do."
Davis' daughter, Kylie, 8, was also injured in the accident, but has since been released from the hospital.
Family members have set up an account for those who wish to donate at IBC Bank under his wife's name, Kasara Escamilla.
