CORPUS CHRISTI - The search for a new port commissioner is underway, and former mayor Joe Adame wants to be considered for the job.
Adame said that he's formally requested to fill the seat vacated by Robert Kostelnik.
Adame is a commercial real estate developer. He says his experience and relationships could help the port with long term plans.
"I feel like my talent and my experience ... my love for this community can really be an asset and add value to that long-range planning process that the port is running through," Adame told KRIS 6 News.
If chosen, Adame would serve out Kostelnik's term, which ends in 2016.
The city council will make a decision to fill that seat and the one belonging to outgoing chairman Mike Carrell on December 10th.
