CORPUS CHRISTI - "What do we want? Equality. When do we want it? Now," chanted the the crowd.

Hundreds showed up for the 2nd Annual "Marriage Equality March" Sunday afternoon, to show their support for those who cannot marry each other based on Texas state law.

"Legislation is being passed on a state by state level, so it's just something that we hope that by showing that this is something that affects Texans, that at our level of government, that we can make some sort of change," said Marriage Equality activist, Korbin Matthews.

While politicians haggle over the issue, these local activists hit the streets with a simple message: "Everyone should have the right to marriage."

"It's hard for us here. It's a struggle for us to actually have the same rights as everybody else. Heterosexual, homosexual, it doesn't really matter, we're all human beings and we deserve the same rights," said Sergio Martinez and Juan Delossantos.

Sergio and Juan have been dating for over a year and the two recently got engaged, but as of now, that is where their plans stop, until Texas joins the growing list of states that allow gay marriage.

"I just feel like there's so many people that can get married. People meet at bars in Las Vegas and get married overnight but people who are actually in love can't get married. So, it's just not right," they said.

The march proceeded from the Art Museum to the People's Street T-head.

And now these hopeful husbands can only wait to see if their message will have an impact on our community, and then the rest of the state.

"We're no different than they are, we put our pants on just like they do every morning. We go to work everyday, we work our full, 8 hour shifts, we pay taxes, we do everything that they do. We should have the same rights. We're in America and Americans have freedom. Let us have ours."
