CORPUS CHRISTI - A portion of Interstate 37 will be closed for several hours this morning following a 3 car accident.
Police are still trying to figure how it happened but here is what we know so far.
The accident happened just after 2:30 this morning on the northbound side of Interstate 37 near Rand Morgan.
Investigators say a car was in the emergency lane facing the opposite direction of the traffic when the accident happened.
5 people were taken to the hospital, their conditions are currently unknown.
In the meantime, police are asking folks who are headed out to the Calallen area to exit Interstate 37 at Suntide, go around the accident and then get back on the highway.
