CORPUS CHRISTI -- Police are on the scene of a major accident at Morgan and 18th.
Initial reports state a truck ran into a power pole and officers say the driver took off running, but they caught up with him.
A reporter on the scene says the driver is being treated in an ambulance right now.
It's unclear on the severity of his injuries.
The pole snapped in half and left wires dangerously hanging over the road, so police closed off the area.
Unfortunately, some people are standing around at the scene to see what's going on, and police are asking them to get back because the wires could be dangerous.
You're asked to avoid the area of Morgan and 18th if you're driving tonight.
The accident also knocked out power to the area.
Our reporter says an Exxon Gas Station, close by, shut down, because the power went out.
The power is also out at a nearby McDonald's as well as homes of area residents.
