CORPUS CHRISTI - Our dry and hot forecast will continue right on track today as we remain under a big dome of high pressure that will promote lots of afternoon heat and humid and warm night for the next several days.
Today will be mostly sunny and hazy with an afternoon high around 96 degrees with heat index values around 105-109. Winds: SSE 10-20
Tonight a few clouds will roll in late; winds will be relatively light and will make for a tranquil and warm evening. Lows will fall into the upper 70s to lower 80 near the coast.
T.S. Dorian has become a little stronger overnight with maximum sustained winds at 60mph on a west-northwest route headed toward the Turk Islands and near the Bahamas. Dorian remains no threat to us here, but we will be watching the progress of the storm very closely for you. Another interest of tropical development near Bermuda has caught the eye of the Hurricane Center and trying to get its act together and is moving towards the north and eventually the northern Atlantic and should not bother anyone.
We are getting into the peak of hurricane season as we head towards August, so if you have not picked up your KRIS Communications Hurricane Guide at any area H-E-B you are encouraged to grab one as they are free to the public and provide lots of great details on how to keep you and your family safe.
