CORPUS CHRISTI - The front that passed through this morning was less than impressive when it came to delivering any type of rainfall. There were a few locations that reported a hundredth or a trace, but overall most of the Coastal Bend remained dry. The winds did pick up pretty brisk out of the northeast and winds gusted around 35-40mph earlier in the day.
Tonight, winds will calm down slightly and turn more to the east-southeast around 5-15mph with temperatures dropping into the upper 50s to lower 60s across South Texas with just a few clouds around the area.
Thursday will still feature warm and above average temperatures as we see the clouds increase throughout the day and afternoon highs topping out in the upper 70s to mid-80s over the region. Winds will begin to ramp back up out of the southeast around 15-25mph sustained and gust around 30+ later in the afternoon.
The next front is not scheduled to arrive until late in the weekend and will deliver a decent amount of "cooler" air as temperatures are expected to drop back into the mid -70s for highs and nighttime lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s for the start of the next week. The warmest day will be Saturday, the day before the front arrives, as temperatures could once again get out of hand and reach the mid to upper 90s for afternoon highs. Some triple digits will once again be possible for our western and southern locations. Chances of some drizzle cannot be ruled out each morning (before the day of the front) as sufficient moisture will be in place to squeeze a few drops from the morning clouds. Something in the rainfall department is better than nothing at all.
Have a great day!
