KINGSVILLE - Texas A&M-Kingsville Quarterback Nate Poppell has found a way to continue his football career past college, as the three-year starter has signed to play overseas for the Bergen Storm in Norway. The contract is good one year.
The Storm are members of the Norges Amerikanske Idretters Forbund (NAIF)and have been around since 1992. Aside from quarterback duties Poppell will also serve as a coach.
In 9 games last season he threw for 1,805 yards and 13 touchdowns. Arguably his best season came in 2010 when Poppell torched the air for 2,671 yards and 16 touchdowns.
