CORPUS CHRISTI -- It's an annual tradition in Corpus Christi, every Veterans Day.
Dozens of people show up to Sherrill Park to honor the men and women who served or are still serving our country.
But this Veterans Day, is different from any other.
Staff Sgt. Edward Garcia said, "This is actually the first Veterans Day without any World War I Veterans anywhere in the world now. So, it's even more important we remember those who have gone before us and those presently serving."
Along with remembering our World War I Vets, people at Sherrill Park took time to honor all branches of the military and the men and women who bravely fought for our country.
Guest speaker -- City Attorney Carlos Valdez -- talked about the importance of patriotism and doing more for our community.
While the Veterans Band of Corpus Christi played patriotic music throughout the morning as people tapped their toes.
Vietnam War Veteran Valeriano Delagarza said, "It makes you feel good because we know we've been recognized as veterans and hopefully they keep coming back and bring their friends with them."
