CORPUS CHRISTI- We had lots of clouds today with increasing humidity and very warm temperatures. We are setting up for a major rain event in south Texas headed into the weekend. Here are the details.
An upper level disturbance and a slow moving weak cold front will converge on the Coastal Bend and produce badly needed rain for much of the area over the holiday weekend and early next week. Some of the rain will actually be locally heavy again like it was last Monday. Temperatures will heat up ahead of the system then cool off only a little to slightly below normal levels thru the middle of next week.
Tonight will be cloudy breezy again warm and sticky with a low of 76.
Friday expect mostly cloudy skies but a little less wind and hot with a high near 90 and isolated thundershowers.
Significant rain in the form of showers and thunderstorms will occur on Friday night and Saturday and to a lesser extent Sunday extending into Monday. Some of this rain will be locally heavy and aid in improving our current dry spell.
