HOUSTON - An autopsy has been ordered on a 9-year-old girl whose body was found wrapped in blankets at her Houston home.
Houston police on Tuesday said neighbors became concerned after not seeing the child for several months.
Police were summoned after a neighbor on Monday entered the home through an unlocked door and found the body in the kitchen.
Police say the girl suffered from cerebral palsy. Nobody else was at the residence.
Sgt. Chris Hassig says investigators are trying to reach the girl's mother but have been unsuccessful. Hassig says police have contacted the child's father, who lives elsewhere.
