7th St. Death Ruled a Homicide

CORPUS CHRISTI - The autopsy on 21-year old-Michael Andrew Martinez is complete. According to the medical examiner, Martinez was murdered.

His body was found inside a burning home in the 1500 block of 7th Street on December 19th by firefighters.

At the time, police said his death was suspicious.

The ME also said he believed the fire was set to cover up the death.

Today, the ME confirmed that Martinez's death is a homicide and that he died of sharp force injuries.

We were also told that Martinez was slightly burned in the fire.
