ARANSAS PASS - We have a 6 News Investigation Follow up on the Aransas Pass Housing Authority, which has come under fire for low scores on housing assessments.
As we've reported, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has labeled the A.P Housing Authority as "troubled".
Now, their director, Laura Simank, has resigned.
In it's most recent H.U.D assessment, the Aransas Pass Housing Authority had an overall score of 42 out of 100 and a 5 out of 25 in the management category.
Board Chairman Alice Sloan says they have made significant progress in fixing many of the problems, and the board has also named an interim director.
Sloan says they're also searching for a permanent, full-time director.
