CORPUS CHRISTI - We have a 6 News Investigation follow-up about a group of Corpus Christi police officers caught on tape engaging in possibly inappropriate behavior. The officers have been identified, but the Police Department did not release their names.

As we've reported, the department is investigating the incident that happened last weekend in a parking lot near a southside nightclub.

The video shows a woman dressed in a bumble-bee costume walking away from a group of officers. As she walks away, one officer shines his flashlight on her bottom. Then he does it again as she bends over.

Police Chief Floyd Simpson says the officers involved will have to answer to internal affairs.

"They have the right to answer allegations, and they have the right to come and kind of write their side of the story. They'll be given that opportunity and then we'll discipline accordingly," Simpson says.

Simpson says they're looking into which officers were on duty at the time and which weren't. He told us its not uncommon for off-duty officers to provide security for nightclubs, but he says one question they have is why a marked patrol unit was at the scene.

"If that car was not supposed to be there, we'll figure out why, but it was at closing time and often times, on-duty resources go to those clubs that are large and are letting out at 2:30 or 2 o'clock in the morning," Simpson says.

The man who filmed the video didn't want to be identified, but told us he saw even more than he taped. He says at one point, the girl danced on the squad car while police yelled obscenities at her.

"To see people who are there supposed to be protecting us and looking out for us, treating a young lady like that who was clearly intoxicated, it just blew my mind to see that type of stuff would even happen," he says.

Now, the Corpus Christi Police Department must decide if what's shown in the video is the whole story, or just the beginning.
