CORPUS CHRISTI - A woman's back yard is flooded today after a city water line broke for the fourth time. You might be surprised to hear that before we talked with the city, her problem wasn't considered a priority even thought it's happened more than just a couple of times.

Nicki Sohn's backyard looked like a swamp Thursday afternoon.

"I mean this is affecting my life.... And this happens all the time," said Sohn.

This is the fourth time a brake has happened in her backyard and she says she's fed up with it.

"I want to know why this keeps going on. I'm tired... I'm tired of this... I'm tired of dealing with this," said Sohn.

Sohn says she moved into this home about 10 years ago and since then every few years she knows to expect a water line break. She says she's even designed her flower beds so when a break occurs her plants won't be in the way.

"I'm ready to pack my bags and sell to whoever wants it and let them deal with it," said Sohn.

So we went to the city water department to get some answers.

When I asked the work coordinator of emergency operations with the Water Department, Christopher Hefley, why this keeps happening he said, "Well let's see the Vaky area is made with cast iron line and it's an older infrastructure. A lot of cast iron lines, the older they get they will break more."

Hefley says the only way to permanently fix an issue like Sohn's is to completely replace the line. But other water mains need it worse.

"I mean the city workers are wasting their time too. Their going to do this again in another two years," said Sohn.

Hefley says right now they are fixing up to 10 water line breaks daily that are a more high priority than Sohn's home. But after our interview, they now say she is on that priority list.
