5 Hurt in Chartered Bus, Pickup Wreck

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Five people have been hurt in a Central Texas traffic accident involving a chartered bus and a pickup truck.

Austin-Travis County EMS reports the wreck happened late Tuesday night on Interstate 35 in Austin. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the accident that slowed overnight traffic along I-35.

Officials say the bus driver was seriously hurt and had to be extricated from the vehicle for transport to a hospital. Three bus passengers and the driver of the pickup truck have lesser injuries and were also taken to hospitals.

The bus carried about two dozen passengers. Further details on the vehicle and the destination were not immediately available.
