The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash happened at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday near Los Fresnos, north of Brownsville. DPS spokesman Sgt. Four people were dead at the scene, with a fifth person dying as she was being transported to a hospital.

The driver of the Rav4 is believed to be in critical condition at a San Antonio hospital.
