CONROE, Texas - Authorities say a 4-year-old boy in Southeast Texas has died from injuries he sustained after being attacked by a pit bull.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says the boy, Christian Gormanous, had climbed a chain link fence into a neighbor's yard near Conroe on Saturday. The dog was chained but somehow managed to attack and bite the boy.
His 9-year-old sister was able to pull the boy to safety and call for help.
The boy was taken to a hospital in nearby Houston where he died from his injuries.
Deputies are investigating the attack but authorities say they don't expect to file criminal charges.
The dog is in the custody of animal control officers.
