CORPUS CHRISTI - District Attorney Mark Skurka says he would've preferred Benito Alvarado to spend the next 40 years in jail for his 5th DWI conviction, but says he's pleased about yesterday's sentence of 32 years.
The 46-year-old was pulled over in Robstown last May and given a field sobriety test. Judging by the dashcam video it is fair to say he failed miserably.
Alvarado can be seen wobbling around, failing to follow officer's requests, even doing the hokey pokey dance before he was stopped.
Alvarado plead guilty to the driving while intoxicated charge.
Skurka says this is Alvarado's 5th conviction in the past 24 years. He told us he considers him a threat to the community.
