HOUSTON - At least one person is in custody for a shooting this afternoon at the Lone Star College campus shooting in Houston. SWAT officers were seen searching the campus and nearby woods for a possible second suspect.
CBS affiliate KHOU reports three people, including the possible suspect were shot during an argument between two men. One of the injured was handcuffed while taken out of the library on a stretcher.
Mark Zaragosa, an EMT student, got some hands-on experience when he spotted two victims before police arrived. "I actually had just come out of EMT class and I noticed that there were two downed victims so I stopped to render assistance," Zaragosa said. "The two people that I took care of had just minor injuries. One gentleman had a gunshot to the knee and the [other] actually had an entry wound to the lower buttocks area."
Lone Star College System issued an alert on its website telling students and faculty to take immediate shelter or avoid the campus. All nearby elementary and secondary schools were also on lockdown.
