HOUSTON - Three Houston-area deputies have been fired amid allegations they had consensual sex with a female law enforcement volunteer while in their patrol cars.
A statement late Tuesday from the Harris County Sheriff's Office says improper conduct will not be tolerated.
The department on Monday fired Deputies Adam Wright, Michael Medina and Robert Johnson following an internal investigation that began in late 2012.
Investigators say the men - in separate incidents with the same woman - used their patrol cars as a place to have sex with her. The sheriff's office says the encounters happened when the deputies should have been working.
The woman is no longer with the Citizen's Police Academy. The sheriff's department program is meant to give Houston-area residents close knowledge of law enforcement protocol and procedures.
