SAN PATRICIO CO.- The Texas Department of Public Safety says troopers seized a tanker truck loaded with 7,816 lbs of marijuana yesterday in San Patricio County.
The trooper stopped the truck to perform a visual inspection of the tanker as part of normal commercial vehicle enforcement.
Officials did not go into detail on how easy it was for the trooper to spot the 3.9 tons of marijuana which likely took up the entire tanker.
45-year-old Paul Anthony Simmons of Robstown is being held on $1 million bond.
The drugs have an estimated street value of $3.4 million.
