CORPUS CHRISTI - Whataburger Field's 2013 amateur baseball schedule is loaded with 14 high school games and 12 college contests, the Corpus Christi Hooks announced Tuesday.

In all, 20 high school teams have been slotted for action at 734 East Port Avenue. Carroll and Victoria East dive right in on the first day of the UIL calendar February 18. The next night, long-time stalwarts Robstown and Moody take center stage in another 6:30 start.

Banquete faces Port Lavaca Calhoun on Tuesday, February 26. The Bulldogs are one of eight clubs making their inaugural Whataburger Field appearances. The others: Bishop, Ingleside, Port Aransas, Victoria East, Victoria West, West Oso and Woodsboro.

"It's our privilege and honor to serve the South Texas high school baseball community," Hooks communications director Matt Rogers said. "This time around we expanded our scope even further. We have our first Class A match-up, a District 31 game between Woodsboro and Port Aransas. Bishop has been a 2A power for years and they get three-time 3A state champion Sinton. West Oso and Ingleside play a 30-3A game out here. Miller and Ray is the oldest rivalry in town.

"Robstown and Moody on the second night of the season, Calallen and Carroll in mid-April, enough said. Those are four of the most storied programs in the state."

Tickets for games involving Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD) teams are $5 for adults and $3 for youth 4-14. Children 3-and-under are free.

Admission to all non-CCISD games is $5 for ages 4-and-up.

High school game tickets go on sale at the Whataburger Field box office day of game at 9 a.m.
