CORPUS CHRISTI - Three standouts from the Coastal Bend medaled in this year's State Swimming & Diving meet in Austin. Ray's Zoe Alaniz followed up her Wendy's High School Heisman Award with a 1st place finish in the 4A 1 meter diving. Flour Bluff's Andrew Haglum finished 2nd in the 4A 50 yard freestyle, and he's just a sophomore. The Flour Bluff 200 yard freestyle relay team of Phillip Ugarte, Lucas Mestas-Nunez, Haglum, and Oliver Garnier finished third.
Here's a look at others who just missed out on a medal from the Coastal Bend:
Flour Bluff's Kristina Prewitt finished 5th in the 4A girls 50 yard freestyle.
Calallen's Jack McLaughlin finished 4th in the 4A boys 200 yard freestyle.
The Flour Bluff 400 meter freestyle relay team of Ugarte, Andrew Byerly, Haglum and Garnier finished 4th.
